Method 1: Using the Force Quit Menu
- Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select Force Quit from the dropdown menu.
- Select the unresponsive application from the list.
- Click the Force Quit button.
Method 2: Using the Keyboard Shortcut
- Press Command + Option + Esc on your keyboard.
- This will open the Force Quit Applications window directly.
- Select the application you want to close and click Force Quit.
Method 3: Using Activity Monitor
- Open Activity Monitor from your Applications > Utilities folder.
- Find the unresponsive process in the list.
- Select it and click the Stop (X) button in the toolbar.
- Choose Force Quit from the confirmation dialog.
Method 4: Using the Dock
- Hold down the Option key on your keyboard.
- Right-click (or Control-click) on the application’s icon in the Dock.
- Select Force Quit from the context menu that appears.
Note: Force quitting may result in unsaved work being lost. Use this method only when an application is completely unresponsive.
