Taking Screenshots on Windows
- Entire Screen: Press the PrtScn key. This copies the screenshot to your clipboard, which you can then paste into an image editor like Paint.
- Active Window: Press Alt + PrtScn to capture only the currently active window.
- Save a Screenshot Instantly: Press Windows Key + PrtScn. The screen will dim briefly, and the screenshot will be saved automatically in the ‘Screenshots’ folder inside your ‘Pictures’ library.
Taking Screenshots on macOS
- Entire Screen: Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 3. The screenshot will be saved as a file on your desktop.
- Selected Portion: Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4. Your cursor will change to a crosshair. Click and drag to select the area you want to capture.
- A Specific Window: Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4, then press the Spacebar. The cursor will change to a camera icon. Click on the window you wish to capture.
Taking Screenshots on Android (Common Methods)
- Press the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously until you see a flash or animation.
- On some Samsung devices, you can swipe the edge of your hand across the screen from right to left.
Taking Screenshots on iPhone/iPad
- iPhones with Face ID: Press the Side Button and the Volume Up button at the same time, then release quickly.
- iPhones with a Home Button: Press the Side (or Top) Button and the Home Button at the same time, then release quickly.
