How to Reset Your Apple Watch

There are two main ways to reset your Apple Watch, depending on your needs:

Method 1: Erase All Content and Settings (Standard Reset)

  1. Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together.
  2. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  3. Tap the My Watch tab, then go to General > Reset.
  4. Tap Erase Apple Watch Content and Settings.
  5. Confirm your choice. If you have a cellular model, you’ll be asked if you want to keep or remove your cellular plan. For pairing later, choose to keep it.
  6. Enter your Apple ID password to disable Activation Lock, then tap Erase.

Method 2: Reset Directly on the Apple Watch

  1. On your watch, open the Settings app.
  2. Go to General > Reset.
  3. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
  4. Enter your passcode if prompted, then confirm the erase.

Important Note: Resetting your watch will delete all media, data, and settings, and it will unpair from your iPhone if it’s still connected.
