Steps to Permanently Delete Your Instagram Account
- Go to the Instagram account deletion page in a web browser (you cannot delete your account from the mobile app).
- Log in to the account you want to delete if you are not already logged in.
- Select a reason for deleting your account from the dropdown menu.
- Re-enter your password when prompted.
- Click or tap “Permanently delete my account”.
Important Notes
- Instagram does not allow you to delete your account directly from the mobile app; you must use a web browser.
- Deletion is permanent. You will lose all photos, videos, messages, and profile information.
- Your username will no longer be available for anyone, including you, to use in the future.
- Instagram may take up to 90 days to fully delete all your data from their systems.
