Step-by-Step Guide to Cutting a Pineapple
- Lay the pineapple on its side and use a sharp chef’s knife to slice off the crown (leafy top) and the base.
- Stand the pineapple upright and carefully slice off the skin from top to bottom, following the fruit’s curve. Remove as many of the brown “eyes” as possible.
- Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise, then into quarters.
- Remove the tough core by cutting a V-shaped notch along the inner edge of each quarter.
- Slice or chunk the quarters into your desired size and shape. Your pineapple is now ready to eat!
Alternative Method: Pineapple Rings
- After removing the top, base, and skin, lay the pineapple on its side.
- Slice into rounds of your preferred thickness.
- Use a small cookie cutter or knife to remove the core from the center of each ring.
