Step-by-Step Guide to Cutting a Pineapple

  1. Lay the pineapple on its side and use a sharp chef’s knife to slice off the crown (leafy top) and the base.
  2. Stand the pineapple upright and carefully slice off the skin from top to bottom, following the fruit’s curve. Remove as many of the brown “eyes” as possible.
  3. Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise, then into quarters.
  4. Remove the tough core by cutting a V-shaped notch along the inner edge of each quarter.
  5. Slice or chunk the quarters into your desired size and shape. Your pineapple is now ready to eat!

Alternative Method: Pineapple Rings

  1. After removing the top, base, and skin, lay the pineapple on its side.
  2. Slice into rounds of your preferred thickness.
  3. Use a small cookie cutter or knife to remove the core from the center of each ring.
