Boiling Time for Corn on the Cob
The ideal boiling time depends on whether the corn is fresh or frozen:
- Fresh Corn: Boil for 5-7 minutes after the water returns to a boil.
- Frozen Corn: Boil for 7-10 minutes after the water returns to a boil.
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
- Add shucked corn ears to the boiling water.
- Cover the pot and return to a boil.
- Cook for the recommended time based on whether corn is fresh or frozen.
- Remove with tongs and serve immediately with butter and salt.
Tip: Don’t overcook – corn is best when still slightly crisp. The kernels should be tender but not mushy.
