Finding Your IP Address on Different Devices

Your IP (Internet Protocol) address identifies your device on a network. Here’s how to find it on common platforms:

On Windows

  1. Open the Command Prompt.
  2. Type ipconfig and press Enter.
  3. Look for the “IPv4 Address” under your active network connection.

On macOS

  1. Open System Preferences and go to Network.
  2. Select your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
  3. Your IP address will be displayed on the right.

On Android

  1. Go to Settings > About phone > Status.
  2. Find the “IP address” entry.

On iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the i icon next to your connected network.
  3. Your IP address is listed under the “IPV4 ADDRESS” section.

Using a Web Browser (Public IP)

Visit a site like whatismyipaddress.com or simply search “what is my IP” in Google to see your public IP address.
